WATER BAPTISM
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Water baptism is a symbol of our submission to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a symbol associated with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. It is also a public expression of our resolve not to continue walking in sin. Water baptism is a practical indication of our spiritual reality as well as a personal testimonial that we have moved from the old life of sin to the new life in Christ. It is a technique of demonstrating the spiritual truth that Jesus has already accomplished via his work on the cross.
The Lighted Church believes that every born-again Christian must undergo water baptism by immersion.

MARRIAGE PROCESS IN LIGHTED CHURCH.
The intended bride and groom are expected to notify the church of their intentions, minimum of 6months before their marriage.
A letter of introduction and intention is sent to the counselling unit. This is to equip the intending couple with topical information that will help them in the marriage institution.
Forms are given to them to fill. The form helps to collate information on health and parental consent.
For the intending bride or groom coming from another ministry, a letter of introduction from his or her ministry is required.
Having satisfied with the requirements, a 6 weeks counselling session will be organised for the couple to be.
Having satisfied with the counselling process, they are then referred to the senior pastor of the church for final assessment.
The dates for both traditional and white weddings will be confirmed with the church.

Holy Spirit Baptism
On the day of Pentecost, all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.
Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

The Lighted Church believes that every born again Christian should receive the Holy Spirit baptism by infilling or impartation.
The Holy Spirit baptism is very significant in the life of every believer. After His resurrection, Christ told his disciples that, “they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father… For John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence” (Acts 1:4-5).
Jesus promised to build His Church and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to succeed.

Intending testifier is required to share the testimony first with the pastor in advance for management of events within the church service time.
